Denzel Washington is in talks to star in Universal Pictures’ thriller Safe House, reports Variety.
The trade says that the studio has brought in director Daniel Espinoza to work through a quick rewrite with David Guggenheim, who penned the original script.
The film centers on a house sitter of a CIA-run safe house who must help a criminal, who’s being hidden there, avoid being killed as they flee to another secure facility when the first house is destroyed by villains who want the witness dead.
The production is targeting a fall or winter start.
