More Lovecraft for Re-Animator director
Two great tastes that taste great together are Stuart Gordon and H.P. Lovecraft. Wait-a-sec, forget I said that. Let’s back up and start over…
Stuart Gordon – who gave us Re-Animator and Dagon, to name two adaptations – is in pre-production on H.P. Lovecraft’s The Thing on the Doorstep, says Variety. One of the literary storyteller’s more spiritual (in the literal sense) tales, “Thing” concerns itself with the evils of soul transference.
Gordon is directing it under the newly reborn Amicus Entertainment banner who just entered into a deal with Moonstone Entertainment. Together these two entities will crank out three to four flicks a year – “Thing” is one project, the other is Paul Schrader’s Recall, a psychological thriller.
Waiting in the wings for release at Amicus is Stuck, starring Mena Suvari, Gordon’s first endeavor for the company.
