Why won’t New Line make way for Michael Myers?
So there’s a new one-sheet floating around the Internet for The Final Destination.
It says you can experience it in 3D on August 28th – the release date that has been locked for two months now. Some questioned if it was coming out then – positioning it against Rob Zombie’s Halloween 2. And yes, it is. Neither party is going to budge. Why?
Well, New Line has already made their arrangements with the theaters that carry the 3-D projection system. And the Weinsteins found success with the first Halloween on the same date two years ago. Do you think the brothers are going to make way for the competition? No way. I’ve heard from reps in both camps and there is a modicum of concern, but both are confident they’ll find their respective audience that weekend.
