Full Film and Event Schedule Live for London’s SHOCK STOCK Convention

Canadian cult movie con unleashes a slew of events and screenings.

London, Ontario, a pretty city in Canada, has long been a secret handshake destination for lovers of cult, horror, exploitation and sexploitation film culture. This is due almost exclusively to the vision and enthusiasm of James Bialkowski and Jacob Windatt, better known under their long-held banner entity name Vagrancy.

These two clever smut peddlers have long been hosting screenings and events in their hometown and beyond and in 2010 decided to put their money where their filthy mouths are and start their own convention. That 3 day party is called SHOCK STOCK (running May 27th – 29th) and it’s now a target destination for strange cinema lovers from around the world, drawing as it does a myriad of international guests and cult movie legends, giving fans the chance to not just meet but party with their heroes in a relaxed, fun environment.

This year, SS has a pack of awesome stars hanging out, including John Waters film star Mink Stole, Ari Lehman, A. Michael Baldwin, Tristan Risk, James Bickert and more (check out the current lineup here).

But SHOCK STOCK is also notable for its wild parties and film screenings and they have one helluva lineup planned.

This year, SS will feature the Canadian premieres of Peter Hearn’s insane UK shocker SCRAWL as well as James Bickert’s much-hyped, deluxe 35mm exploitation flick meltdown FRANKENSTEIN CREATED BIKERs. Bickert and actors Tristan Risk, Madeline Brumby and Ellie Church will appear at the screening and hang out at the fest all weekend. Greg Lamberson’s award winning romp KILLER RACK and Canadian slasher opus SECRET SANTA will also play as well as a glut of short films, including Richard Powell’s HEIR and SHOCK contributor John Nicol’s GLIMPSE.

For the full film and panel lineup go here.

Then, on Saturday night, SHOCK STOCK will host the mother of all parties, including the SS house band Sprocket Damage, Lehman’s band First Jason, Goblin’s Maurizio Guarini and yours truly performing live “Music for Murder” with fellow SHOCK scribbler David Bertrand on skins.

Check out the poster below. See you at the show!
