John Cusack has been announced as the lead of Dictablanda, a comedy from The Lake House director Alejandro Agresti, Variety reports.
Cusack was involved with co-writing the script, alongside Agresti, Kevin Morris and Paul Hipp (who will also appear).
The title is a political term used to describe dictatorships with a high regard for civil liberties and is described as being a “screwball comedy of manners.”
Production on Dictablanda is set to begin immediately, shooting this month and the next in Buenos Aires and Mar de Ajo, Argentina.
