Joining her will be Bailee Madison (Once Upon a Time, Just Go with It) and Lewis Pullman (Aftermath, Battle of the Sexes). Production on the feature is set to begin on May 30 in Los Angeles.
Johannes Roberts (The Other Side of the Door, 47 Meters Down) will direct based on a script by Bryan Bertino (The Strangers, The Monster) and Ben Ketai. The Fyzz Facility Pictures’ Wayne Marc Godfrey (Wind River, The Foreigner), Robert Jones (Centurion, The Usual Suspects), Mark Lane & James Harris (47 Meters Down, I Am Not A Serial Killer) are producing, in association with Relativity Media. The Fyzz Facility are also serving as financiers on the project. Aviron will be distributing the film in the U.S. and Canada.
The Strangers 2 follows a family whose road trip takes a turn when they arrive at a secluded mobile home park and after the power goes out they decide to hunker down for the night in a borrowed trailer. Under the cover of darkness three familiar masked psychopaths pay them a visit to test their every limit.
The first film arrived in theaters May 30, 2008 and brought in over $80 million at the global box office on a meager $9 million budget. A sequel has been in development since that same year but has yet to materialize.
