Directed by Jeff Tomsic, the Tag script hails from Mark Steilen and Rob McKitrrick and is loosely based on a true story of a group of friends who have been playing a hardcore game of tag for the last 30 years. The story was featured in a Wall Street Journal article back in 2013. Titled Tag Brothers, the article detailed how 10 classmates from Spokane, WA’s Gonzaga Preparatory School continued to play a game of tag 23 years after leaving the school. They played the game, going so far as to secretly enter one another’s homes and even scheduling their vacations around the game.
Fisher will play the wife of Helms’ character. He’s one of several players caught up in the ongoing game.
Tag will be produced by Tod Garner, Mark Steilen and Sean Robbins. Look for it to hit theaters June 29, 2018. That’s the same date that Sony Pictures has slated to debut their Barbie movie.
