Deadpool’s Brianna Hildebrand joins FOX’s The Exorcist season 2
Deadpool actress Brianna Hildebrand has joined the cast of the revamped The Exorcist Season 2, according to Deadline. The cast is changing for the sophomore season of the FOX drama based on the 1973 horror film of the same name. Cast members Alfonso Herrera (The Chosen, Sense8), Kurt Egyiawan (Skyfall, Beats of No Nation) and Ben Daniels (Flesh and Bone, House of Cards) are the only regulars to return to the show and The Exorcist Season 2 will have a new exorcism case. John Cho (Star Trek, Harold & Kumar Go to White Castle) recently joined the cast as well. Brianna Hildebrand has been cast as a series regular and will play “Verity, one of Kim’s (Cho) foster children. Being close to 18 years old, her time in the house is coming to an end. Her tough exterior makes it seem as if she doesn’t care, when in reality, she would die for her siblings and Andrew.”
Father Ortega (Herrera) and Marcus Keane (Daniels) have left Chicago and are looking for cases. They find a former child psychologist named Andrew Kim (Cho) who runs a group home for at-risk foster children on an island off the coast of Seattle. One of those children becomes possessed, of course, “putting the priests on a collision course with Hell.”
The Exorcist premiered in September of 2016 and also starred Geena Davis (Thelma & Louise, Beetlejuice), Hannah Kasulka (The Fosters), Alan Ruck (Spin City, Ferris Bueller’s Day Off) and Brianne Howey (Scream Queens).
The Exorcist Season 2 premieres Friday, September 29 on FOX.
