The CW is in development on Project 13, a DC Comics adaptation with Elizabeth Banks producing
The CW is developing an adaptation of the DC Comics characters Traci Thirteen and her father Dr. Terrance Thirteen, according to Variety. Elizabeth Banks (The Hunger Games franchise, The LEGO Movie) is attached as an executive producer. The drama Project 13 will be an hour-long show and will focus on Traci, “a twenty-something forensic scientist and believer in the paranormal who discovers her own hidden extra-sensory abilities when she joins her estranged, skeptic father to investigate mysterious cases of the paranormal and unexplained phenomena.”
Traci Thirteen first appeared in DC Comics in Superman Vol 2 #189 in 2003 and is the daughter of professional debunker Dr. Terrance Thirteen and sorceress Meihui Lan. In the comics, her powers include magical sight, divination, protection, magical blast, psychic link and fate sense. Traci Thirteen has appeared in comics like Flashpoint and Batman. She’s been affiliated with Team 13, Croatoans, Supergirls and Team Superman.
Project 13 will be written by Daegan Fryklind, who will also executive produce. Banks and Max Handelman will produce with their Brownstone Productions, which will produce in association with Warner Bros. Television. There is no word yet if the possible series would be part of the DC TV universe currently on The CW, which includes Arrow, The Flash, DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, and Supergirl as well as web series on CW Seed like Vixen and Constantine. Fans of the character will likely expect to see Traci’s pet iguana Leroy as part of the series.
