Marvel's Kevin Feige Confirms Eternals Movie In The Works

Marvel’s Kevin Feige Says an Eternals Movie is Possible

In looking to the future of post-Phase Three Marvel Cinematic Universe, the president of Marvel Studios Kevin Feige has revealed that a movie based on the Eternals comic series is possible, according to The Wrap.

This comes just under two weeks after a rumor began circling at Bleeding Cool from a “very reliable source” that the studio was meeting with writers to discuss developing the series for the big screen universe. Feige stated in his interview with The Wrap that in working on the fourth part of the MCU, the studio is having “creative discussions” to see if they have enough faith in the characters to adapt them into a theatrical release.

The Eternals comic book series, created by Jack Kirby in 1976, follows a race of ancient human beings created by the alien Celestials with the intention of them being the defenders of Earth against their destructive counterparts, the Deviants. According to The Wrap, multiple writers have met with Marvel and sources are saying they are being tasked with developing a story centered around Sersi, a fourth generation member of the group born during the Hyborean Age who can manipulate cosmic energy to give her virtual immortality, invulnerability and molecular manipulation.

In the mean time, fans can look forward to Avengers: Infinity War hitting theaters this week as well as the upcoming Ant-Man and The Wasp in July, Captain Marvel, which is still filming, next March, and the fourth Avengers film currently being edited for a release in May 2019. Feige also announced that the sequel to Spider-Man: Homecoming, which is set to hit theaters July 5, 2019, will begin filming this July.
