This Friday, James Patterson’s best-selling detective returns to theaters in Alex Cross, featuring Tyler Perry in a new take on the character made famous onscreen by Morgan Freeman in Along Came a Spider and Kiss the Girls.
Perry’s Cross is a top-of-his-field homicide detective and criminal psychologist who may have finally met his match with the arrival of a brutally violent serial killer known only as Picasso (Matthew Fox). Emotionless and unrelenting, Picasso strikes with expert precision and a penchat for torture. Working alongside fellow officers Tommy Kane (Edward Burns) and Monica Ashe (Rachel Nichols), Cross must race to catch Picasso before the hunter becomes the hunted and Picasso’s moves become sadistically personal.
ComingSoon.net sat down to speak with Perry, Fox, Burns, Nichols and Patterson himself about Perry’s turn as the star of an action thriller, relaunching the Alex Cross character for the screen and the hope of spinning the new film into a franchise.
