Blue Lock Episode 4 Recap

Team Z discusses their individual “weapons” or specialties. Isagi isn’t sure what his weapon is, and Chigiri refuses to say what his specialty is. Kuon manages to come up with a strategy for the next game. While having a late dinner, Isagi reflects on what his weapon could be and wonders if he has a weapon in the first place. Suddenly, Kunigami appears to thank Isagi for the pass in the previous game. Isagi asks Kunigami why he plays soccer. Kunigami shares he wants to be a soccer superhero after idolizing strikers as a kid.

Kunigami then offers half of his steak to Isagi since he can trade his bonus points for other things. He also asks Isagi why he passed the ball to him, knowing Raichi was more open. Isagi says it felt like a reflex to pass the ball to Kunigami. Kunigami thinks Isagi’s ability to make instant decisions might be Isagi’s weapon. Team Z’s next match is against Team Y. The opposing team also lost their previous game and has Okawa, Kumamoto’s top scorer. Team Z’s strategy is to take turns in highlighting their weapons.

The game begins, but Team Z is having a hard time breaking through Team Y’s defense. Isagi notices that Okawa hasn’t been making a move yet, and wonders what the team is waiting for. Suddenly, Niko passes the ball to Okawa, and Isagi realizes they’ve been waiting for a counterattack. Okawa successfully scores a goal. During the second half, Isagi senses trouble coming if the other team gets the ball. Isagi rushes to block the ball from Niko, who’s been leading his team. Gagamaru shoots a goal, leaving the score at 1-1.
