Why Does Nobody Remember Me in This World? episode 1 recap
The episode starts with Kai refusing to release Rinne, who is bound by chains. He is shocked to see a member of another race asking a human for help and wonders why no one remembers him or the other world.
The episode then goes back several hours and introduces Kai as a member of the Human Protection Agency. They aim to protect humanity from demons, spirits, or anything threatening peace. The episode then gives details about the five-race war, which humanity managed to win thanks to Prophet Sid. However, humans remain relaxed after the victory, taking the other races lightly. Meanwhile, Kai focuses on training and properly inspecting graveyards to prevent an ambush.
One day, as he is shopping with Jeanne, the world starts to rewrite itself, but only Kai seems to have noticed. When he wakes up, he finds himself in another world where humans lose the war and are hunted by other races. However, things worsen as he meets his old squad mates who do not remember him. Kai meets Jeanne, but she also doesn’t remember him. He then goes to investigate the tombs and stumbles upon Sid’s sword, which transports him to an unknown place. The episode ends with him meeting Rinne.
