Marvel Comics teased one of Doctor Doom’s most ambitious storylines yet with the reveal of a new 10-issue comic series. Titled Doomquest, the project launches ahead of Avengers 5 and places the infamous villain at the center of a mysterious time-travel narrative.
Marvel Comics announces Doomquest
Marvel Comics has announced Doomquest, a new 10-part Doctor Doom maxi-series launching in May 2026. Ryan North writes the series. He previously worked on One World Under Doom (2025) and currently writes Fantastic Four (2025). Francesco Mobili (Daredevil) provides the interior art. The debut issue hits shelves on May 27 with a cover by Alex Ross.
Marvel presents Doomquest as a standalone, evergreen story. The narrative follows Doctor Doom on a journey through time. He seeks to bring glory to Latveria and defeat Reed Richards. Doom decides to rewrite history before Reed can implement his own plan. Reed aims to optimize human development by correcting eras marked by conflict. Marvel calls the series “a wild and adventurous odyssey” that explores “the heart of Victor Von Doom.”
Reed Richards receives recognition at a global conference. There, he reveals his retirement goal: to fix humanity’s past and save trillions of lives. Doom, excluded from the event and angered by Reed’s ambition, launches his own mission. The Fantastic Four confront him, sparking a battle that spans all of time and space.
Ryan North said, “When the chance came up to do an evergreen Doom story… it was really alluring, especially when I was told I could go as big and as crazy as I wanted.” He described the series as “Doom at his absolute Doomiest… rewriting history in his image.” Francesco Mobili stated, “Doctor Doom is one of the greatest villains in comic book history… I can’t wait for you to see what we’re cooking up!”
Doomquest #1 will feature variant covers by Fabrizio De Tommaso, Nic Klein, John Romita Jr., Luciano Vecchio (Iron Man #149 homage), Ryan Stegman (foil variant), Rose Besch, MR Garcin, and Pete Woods. A preview is available in Armageddon/X-Men #1, releasing May 2 for Comics Giveaway Day™.
