Deadpool Comic Gives Nod To Beloved Anime Hero in Final Chapter

Deadpool recently paid tribute to one of the most iconic characters in anime history, Naruto, in the last chapter of his Marvel comic. The Deadpool: Samurai comic, which was the result of a partnership between Marvel Comics and Shueisha, ended with Chapter 26. The comic first debuted on Shonen Jump in 2021 and became one of the most-read Marvel spin-offs.

Deadpool: Samurai comic pays homage to Naruto in last chapter

Deadpool: Samurai comic ended its run after six years with its final chapter and paid homage to the legendary anime character, Naruto.

On the cover of Chapter 26, fans can see Deadpool’s face with red paint over it, carved in stone on a mountain. This is identical to the final page of Naruto Chapter 700, which had Uzumaki Naruto’s face carved on the Hokage mountain after he became the seventh Hokage. The red paint was done by none other than his son, Boruto, as a form of mischief.

Additionally, the cover of the Deadpool comic also had a portion of Wolverine’s rock face on display.

Taking to X (formerly known as Twitter), Viz Media shared the cover and wrote, “Believe it! Deadpool and Wolverine are teaming up again! @marvel Read Deadpool: Samurai, Ch. 26 and other new simulpub chapters every week in VIZ Manga for free!”

A user wrote on X, “This is why Deadpool comics are in a league of their own.. Paying tribute to Naruto by recreating the iconic Hokage Rock for the final chapter cover is just a brilliant crossover of pop culture.”

Another user stated, “GOAT recognizes GOAT.”

The Deadpool comic comes to an end after Shueisha announced that it is ending its partnership with Marvel Comics. According to Comicbook.com, the statement by Shueisha conveyed, “Shogakukan-Shueisha Productions will be terminating its publishing agreement with U.S. Marvel Comics as of March 31, 2026.”
