Ubisoft announced this morning that there is a lot more of Tom Clancy’s The Division in the pipeline. In addition to ongoing updates to The Division 2, fans can expect a free-to-play iteration of the franchise known as Tom Clancy’s The Division Heartland, a mobile game in the farther future, and the still-in-development Netflix Original film based on the game.

Revealed in a general update on the franchise posted by Ubisoft earlier today, The Division Heartland will be developed by Red Storm, a team that has worked on Tom Clancy games since 1997. It’s a standalone game that doesn’t directly tie into the existing looter shooters and provides “an all-new perspective on the universe in a new setting.” Those interested in the game can sign up for access to early test phases on Ubisoft’s website. The game is set to launch in “2021-2022” across PC, consoles, and cloud services.

Ubisoft also briefly touched on a mobile project set in the world of The Division and updates coming for players still exploring Washington DC in The Division 2. The next update will feature a new game mode for the franchise and new ways of leveling up characters. That content is set for a late 2021 release.
Outside of games, Ubisoft hopes to expand The Division into a transmedia franchise. There’s already a film in the works for Netflix covering the events of the original game. Still in development, Netflix’s The Division stars Jessica Chastain and Jake Gyllenhaal and is directed by Rawson Marshall Thurber.

Ubisoft also has a novel in the works set after the events of The Division 2 that “explores how the Outbreak affects different regions of the United States.” The book will be published by Aconyte and is also generally in development without a set release date.
