Star Wars Eclipse Release Date Window Reportedly Pushed Back

Star Wars Eclipse was announced late last year during The Game Awards 2021, and not too much is known about Quantic Dream’s upcoming title. However, a recent report suggests that the game is far from release.

A recent report from Xfire says that Star Wars Eclipse isn’t set to release until either 2027 or 2028. The reason for the massive gap in announcement and release boils down to Quantic Dream facing difficulties when it comes to hiring staff for the title. The studio reportedly had over 60 job openings as of December 2021, and hasn’t filled many, with 67 still open according to its careers site.

“Checked, and this is true,” corroborated Gamesbeat’s Jeff Grubb on Twitter. “Cynically, a good reason not to even have the appearance of a toxic environment at your studio is that you might be fucked when making your next game because no one wants to work with you.”

The lack of hirings comes after Quantic Dream was accused of fostering a toxic work environment for years, including accusations of sexual harassment.

All we know about the game currently is that it will be an “intricately branching action-adventure game” with multiple playable characters, as is usually the case with Quantic Dream’s games. The game will also take place in Star War‘s High Republic era, putting it far away from any of the more well-known Star Wars characters that exist in various properties today.
