Described by Mega Cat Studios’ Founder James Deighan as “Toy Story with Lord of the Rings storytelling through the lens of the wrestling universe,” WrestleQuest will put players in the shoes of a young wrestling hopeful, who is on his quest to become one of the all-time greats. Check out the trailer for WrestleQuest below:
The game will feature turn-based combat in the form of a wrestling match, and will act as a traditional role-playing game, including having players level up their abilities and find new items that help power them up along the way. WrestleQuest will also feature a star-studded cast of characters, including “Macho Man” Randy Savage, Booker T, Andre The Giant, Jake “The Snake” Roberts, Diamond Dallas Page, and Jeff Jarrett, who are all of the confirmed wrestling legends so far.

WrestleQuest doesn’t currently have an exact release date, but the title will launch sometime this summer, and will be available on the Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam.
Mega Cat doesn’t have many huge titles under its belt, mainly because it mostly develops and publishes new games for old platforms, which explains WrestleQuest‘s retro look. Since 2016, the studio has developed many games for the Nintendo Entertainment System and Sega Genesis decades after their relevancy. The team is probably known most for Log Jammers, a spin on the popular Windjammers games.
