Slitherine Games and The Aristocrats have announced that the upcoming real-time strategy game Starship Troopers: Terran Command has been delayed until June 16, 2022 on PC. It was previously set to release on March 31.

According to the companies, the reason for the delay is because they simply need more time to finish making sure the game is ready to launch. This includes adding more polish, as well as going through more bug fixing that will “make a significant difference” in the game. The two entities said the game is complete, and all remaining development time will be spent refining the title.
“We know many will find this announcement disappointing and we apologize,” reads a statement from both companies. “We truly feel that a few extra months of further polish and bug fixing will make a significant difference. We intend to deliver a finished and polished game, and it is very important for us that you are able to fully enjoy the game from day 1, without any issue spoiling your fun or without having to wait for future patches or hotfixes.”

Starship Troopers: Terran Command is set in the Starship Troopers film universe, and will act as a traditional RTS game in a way that is somewhat similar to Slitherine’s other RTS games. Players will be able to control Mobile Infantry troops as they take up various planetary campaigns against the Arachnids.
