Continuing from 2019’s original mashup between Story of Seasons and the famous anime cat robot, Friends of the Great Kingdom finds the usual cast crashlanding on an unknown world and farming for survival. Despite that setup, the game promises lighthearted and colorful fun with the same animal husbandry, mining, and crop cultivation that farming enthusiasts know and love.
“Doraemon Story of Seasons: Friends of the Great Kingdom builds on the traits that have set this series apart, as a relaxing and well-paced farm simulation game with beloved characters, compelling storytelling, and a rich, visually beautiful fantasy world,” said Kōji Nakajima, Producer at Bandai Namco Entertainment Inc.
Friends of the Great Kingdom is playable single-player or in two-player local co-op throughout the campaign, allowing a pair of players to build out farms or go fishing in harmony. New gameplay features include Doraemon’s gadgets, a suite of tools like “Mini Raincloud” and “Farm Restaurant” that allow for better farm management.

For those not in the know, Story of Seasons is the franchise that Western fans may remember as Harvest Moon. That name came from the franchise’s original publisher Natsume, who went at it alone with newer Harvest Moon games once original and current developer Marvelous took the farming series to other publishers. This collaboration comes in short order after Story of Seasons: Pioneers of Olive Town was released in North America last March.
