Dead Space’s First 18 Minutes Show Fully Remade Visuals

Motive Studio has been quite open about the Dead Space remake’s development process, showing the horror title multiple times in its early stages in addition to releasing other trailers and walkthroughs. However, now that it is almost out, the team has put out the longest video yet and it contains an unbroken look at the Dead Space remake’s first 18 minutes.

IGN posted the video as a part of its IGN First coverage. This video captured on the PC immediately displays the game’s enhanced visuals, as noted by Nicole’s radically updated character model. One of the other big changes is how protagonist Isaac Clarke talks this time around. As Motive has previously said, Isaac is no longer a mute like he was in the 2008 original and will speak when spoken to, which this opening scene demonstrates. Its improved lighting and blood effects were also on display, the latter of which is apparent when a necromorph’s blood dims Isaac’s helmet lights in the early elevator scene.

The Dead Space remake is likely in for a big month, as, in addition to IGN’s month of coverage, it’s also going to make an appearance at The Game Awards in some form. However, this preview is for those who go to an IMAX screening of the show.
