Bandai Namco Entertainment America has announced Sand Land Project, a game based on Dragon Ball creator Akira Toriyama’s short manga series that was originally published in 2000.
As part of the announcement, Bandai released a teaser trailer that features unique sand art. It shows the main character, Beelzebub, lamenting the state of the world he inhabits. Little is known about the game beyond this brief tease, though the video’s description states that further information on the title will be revealed on December 17.

Sand Land follows Beelzebub — the Prince of the Underworld — and his companions, Rao and Thief. The trio travels the desolate Sand Land in search of a new source of water for the oppressed citizens that are forced to live under the land’s greedy King. In Japan, Sand Land was serialized in Weekly Shōnen Jump from May 22, 2000 to August 28, 2000. The series wouldn’t release in North America until 2003, when it ran in the English version of Shonen Jump and was released as a single volume graphic novel later that year.
