The Mission: Impossible 7 movie has arrived in theaters. For those who want to dive into the spoilers and learn what happens at the end of the movie, here is the Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning ending explained.
What happens at the end of Mission: Impossible 7?
The movie ends with a large action set piece set on and around a train. Grace (Hayley Atwell) puts on a mask and assumes the identity of the White Widow (Vanessa Kirby) to bring the complete key to the buyer on the train, who ends up being Kittridge (Henry Czerny). The mask machine breaks, and Ethan, unable to wear a mask to assume the identity of Zola, parachutes off a cliff to get onto the moving train.
Grace pickpockets the key from Kittridge, but the villainous Gabriel (Esai Morales) is able to get ahold of the key. Ethan and Gabriel fight on top of the moving train. However, Jasper (Shea Whigham) shows up to apprehend Ethan, leaving Gabriel enough time to escape off the train. Gabriel detonates the bridge, and Ethan and Jasper must work together to save the passengers.
As the train goes over the bridge, Ethan and Grace narrowly escape death with the help of Paris (Pom Klementieff), Gabriel’s former henchwoman, who he tried to kill under fear she would betray him. Paris informs Ethan of the Sevastopol, a Russian submarine that was destroyed by the A.I. known as the Entity. Afterward, Grace joins the IMF, and Ethan meets Benji, having pickpocketed the key during his fight with Gabriel.
This is the seventh movie in the long-running action spy franchise starring Tom Cruise as IMF Agent Ethan Hunt. This film is written and directed by Christopher McQuarrie in his third movie in the series. Facing more critical acclaim and the prospects of box office success, this is sure to be another hit for the Mission series.
