Ahsoka: Is Darth Vader Dead or Alive & When Will Anakin Skywalker Appear?

With Ahsoka recently premiering on Disney Plus, many people wonder whether Darth Vader is dead or alive at the time of the events shown in the series, considering the relationship between Anakin Skywalker and the titular heroine. Also, will Anakin Skywalker appear in Ahsoka? If so, when? Here’s what we know.

Is Darth Vader dead or alive in Ahsoka?

Darth Vader is dead at the time of the events in Ahsoka.

What happens in the Disney Plus series comes a few years after Darth Vader’s death, which occurs during his clash with Emperor Palpatine in Star Wars: Return of the Jedi. After serving the Empire for many years, Anakin Skywalker redeems himself by saving his son, Luke, from Palpatine’s clutches.

In the Star Wars timeline, Darth Vader’s death happens in 4 ABY (After the Battle of Yavin), while Ahsoka’s journey is roughly set in 11 ABY. Considering the close relationship Ahsoka had with Anakin, his former Jedi master’s turn to the Dark Side and death are still affecting the Togruta, even years after. In fact, Anakin is also expected to appear in some way in the Disney Plus show.

When will Anakin Skywalker appear in Ahsoka?

Anakin Skywalker will appear later in the Ahsoka series.

The latest Star Wars series has just premiered with its first two installments, and Anakin wasn’t part of them. However, Disney Plus and Lucasfilm have promoted Hayden Christensen‘s return to Star Wars. Ahsoka will likely feature some flashbacks with Anakin and Ahsoka (Rosario Dawson), maybe during her Jedi apprenticeship years. The exact episode when this will happen is still unknown.

Ahsoka is currently streaming on Disney Plus. New episodes are released on Tuesdays.
