Concrete Cowboy is a drama film, based on the novel Ghetto Cowboy by Greg Neri. The movie drew inspiration from Philadelphia’s authentic urban African-American horseback riding scene, specifically from the Fletcher Street Urban Riding Club. Several actual residents of the Fletcher Street riding community take supporting roles in the entirely fictional movie, giving voice to actual problems that the community suffers.
