What happens at the end of Star Wars: The Acolyte Episode 5?
In episode 5, titled “Night,” the Jedi fight against the masked Dark Side user and soon prove to be no match for him. All members of the Order except Sol, Yord, and Jecki perish. Sol later confronts Mae’s master and tells Yord to take Osha back to the safety of their ship. However, Osha hears her twin’s voice through the Force and persuades Yord to return with her.
While this happens, Jecki bravely fights the Dark Side user by herself and later assists Sol. She is the one who breaks their opponent’s mask before he kills her. Mae’s master is revealed to be Qimir, who the Jedi met in episode 2. Qimir declares that he has no name, confirming that Qimir is just an alias. He claims that he is a Sith and that he will kill the remaining Jedi to keep his identity hidden.

Yord tries to surprise Qimir by attacking him from behind, but Qimir snaps his neck. Seeing another member of the Order fall before him, Sol attacks Qimir with newfound strength and defeats him. As he is about to kill Qimir, Osha stops him, making him remember that the Jedi do not attack the unarmed. Osha then places Pip on Qimir’s back and the droid’s bright beacon of light draws in the local fauna, the umbramoths, which carry off the Sith Lord.
This is when Mae reappears and knocks Sol out. She tries to convince Osha to join her, but her twin justifiably blames her for the recent deaths and tries to capture her. This prompts Mae to use the Force / Thread on Osha.
Did Osha die in Star Wars: The Acolyte Episode 5
No, Osha doesn’t die in Star Wars: The Acolyte Episode 5. Mae’s attack knocks her out. Mae then cuts her own hair and replaces her clothing with Osha’s before seemingly convincing Sol, a Jedi Master, that she is her twin. Meanwhile, Qimir kills all umbramoths attacking him and finds Osha. He takes her with him, effectively completing a circle that started 16 years ago.
Following the tragedy at Brendok, Osha ended up in the Order and Mae became the acolyte of a Sith. Now, after all these years, they have switched positions. Osha is now in the company of a Sith, while Mae has joined Sol, who will presumably try to return to Coruscant and report what happened. As the episode ends, Bazil, who earlier found Pip and evaded Qimir, boards the Jedi ship.
Even though Mae is a trained user of the Dark Side, Sol probably knows the truth about her. But even if he doesn’t, Pip can probably tell that the girl traveling with him isn’t Osha.
