The chapter starts with Asmodeus expressing his joy at Iruma taking the exam and being summoned to aid him. He is happy that the protagonist was given this task, believing it is good training for the future king. However, Nova interrupts his monologue, asking if he is paying attention to the tour.
Iruma asks about the large tent in the middle of the settlement, and Nova tells him it is used for training. The former then apologizes to Nova, interrupting his training. However, Nova brushes off the apology, telling him the training has nothing to do with him.
The group then follows Nova back to his tent and is amazed by the different types of books he has. Asmodeus states that magic books aren’t necessary for the many-ears people. However, Nova believes it is something that will be necessary for them someday. He then goes on to express their disgust for their current way of living, believing they can be independent without relying on anyone.
Asmodeus thinks his dream is far-fetched and hopes Iruma will set him straight. However, the latter is moved by his words and offers to teach them magic. On the other hand, Asmodeus warns Iruma that supporting Nova means giving up his right to rule, to which the protagonist agrees. The chapter ends with Asmodeus reluctantly accepting Iruma’s decision.
