Deadpool & Wolverine: Does Vinnie Jones Return as Juggernaut?

Deadpool & Wolverine is a perfect example of fan service done right. Numerous characters from Marvel films, including those from various studios, make an appearance in this celebration of superhero culture. Now, fans are eager to find out if Vinnie Jones’ Juggernaut, who was featured in the 2006 film X-Men: The Last Stand, appears in Deadpool & Wolverine.

Here is everything we’ve learned about whether Vinnie Jones reprises his role as Juggernaut in the third Deadpool film, and who plays the character in this installment.

Who plays Juggernaut in Deadpool & Wolverine?

According to TMDB, Aaron W. Reed portrays Juggernaut in Deadpool & Wolverine.

Previously, Reed played the body of Dude in Free Guy, with Ryan Reynolds providing the voice for the character. His other credits include NCIS: Los Angeles, Dawn of the Zombie Apocalypse, French Connection, and Jane the Virgin.

In Deadpool & Wolverine, the Juggernaut character resembles Vinnie Jones’ Cain Marko/Juggernaut from X-Men: The Last Stand. He even moves like Jones’ character and wears a similar helmet, but Vinnie Jones is not part of the cast. Given these similarities, it’s likely safe to speculate that Juggernaut in Deadpool & Wolverine possesses the same powers as the Juggernaut from X-Men: The Last Stand.

Juggernaut briefly appears in the film and is one of the leading subordinates of Cassandra Nova. Deadpool and Wolverine meet the Others (Gambit, Blade, Elektra, and Laura Kinney/X-23) and devise a plan to use Juggernaut’s helmet to subdue Cassandra. During the battle between Nova’s team and the Others, X-23 faces off against Juggernaut and ultimately kills him.

Why was Vinnie Jones recast in Deadpool & Wolverine?

In an interview with Yahoo Movies UK in March 2024, Jones revealed that director Shawn Levy approached him to play Juggernaut. However, he ultimately declined. During the production of X-Men: The Last Stand, wearing his character’s suit took a toll on his mental health.
