Dhanush’s Raayan OTT Platform Revealed

The Tamil action drama, Raayan, starring Dhanush, hit the theatres on July 26, 2024. The title marks the actor’s second directorial venture. It also features Sundeep Kishan, S. J. Suryah, Nithya Menen, Amala Paul, and Selvaraghavan in pivotal roles. Raayan also marks another successful collaboration between Dhanush and Selvaraghavan. The duo have previously worked on films including Mayakkam Enna and Pudhupettai.

After its theatrical release, Raayan received mostly positive reviews for its gripping storyline and stellar performances. As the film performs well at the box office, OTT enthusiasts eagerly await its digital premiere. Recent reports have confirmed that Dhanush’s action-thriller has sold its streaming rights.

When & where will Raayan be digitally released?

Raayan marks Dhanush’s 50th project as the lead actor, a milestone hailed by fans as the “GOAT 50th film.”  According to a report by 123telugu, SUN NXT has secured the movie’s post-theatrical OTT rights. This news has excited audiences eager to experience the film from the comfort of their homes.

Although a specific digital release date has not been disclosed. However, fans can anticipate its availability on OTT platforms 45-60 days after the theatrical premiere. Moreover, Raayan’s box office performance could influence the timing of its digital release, potentially causing an early preview or a significant delay.

Regarding its box office performance, Raayan accumulated around $1.62 million on its opening day. Released in multiple languages, the box office breakdown across different regions is as follows:

  • Tamil belt: $1.4 million
  • Telugu belt: $191,107
  • Hindi belt: $23,888

Discussing his character in Raayan, Sundeep Kishan shared, “I shouldn’t reveal it. You should see it only on the big screens. The character I played should have been essayed by Dhanush Anna. That is the best compliment. My role in Raayan is entirely new to me. I firmly believe my performance will be well-received. It is an entertainer character with emotional depth. I have also done fight scenes.”
