Is Desmond Hart a ghola or a Prophet in Dune: Prophecy? This question has sparked debates among fans since the introduction of the mysterious character. As the series unfolds, particularly after the events of the second episode, speculation continues to grow.
So, who is Desmond Hart and is he ghola or Prophet in Dune: Prophecy? Here is everything you need to know about the speculations surrounding Hart.
Is Desmond Hart a ghola in Dune: Prophecy?
The possibility of Desmond Hart being a ghola has captivated fans of Dune: Prophecy. The theory stems from a prophecy delivered by Sister Lila.
The second episode showcased Sister Lila’s death after she consumed the Water of Life. Prior to her death, she decided to deliver a prophecy about Mother Raquella’s granddaughter, Dorotea. She states, ”The key to the reckoning is one born twice. Once in blood. Once in spice. A revenant full of scars. A weapon born of war, on a path too short.”
This prophecy sparked numerous discussions on social media with fans connecting the dots to Desmond Hart. Many started believing that he could be a ghola. A ghola is a human clone created from dead tissue by the Bene Tleilaxu.
As the prophecy said, Desmond was born twice. He was born once in blood and was further reborn in the Arrakis desert after being swallowed by a sandworm. He managed to survive the sandworm attack and this could be because his dead body became the base for a ghola.
Further, Arrakis is the only place that bears spice, and sandworms prove essential in spice production. This explains how Hart experienced a rebirth in spice. Desmond Hart is also a soldier with scars on his face, symbolizing the weapon born of war.
Is Desmond Hart a Prophet in Dune: Prophecy?
Desmond Hart might be a Prophet in the series.
As seen in the first episode, Sister Raquella utters a word named Tiran-Arafel during her prophecy. Later, Sister Kasha translates her words as, ”A reckoning. A holy judgment brought on by a tyrant.” The prophecy strongly hints at Desmond Hart being the tyrant bringing the judgment for the Sisterhood.
In the first episode, Hart tries to manipulate the Emperor by provoking him against House Richese. Further, he showcases his shady intentions with Pruwet facing a brutal death through fire after his conversation with Hart. Kasha passes away in a similar situation as well. Hart is already confirmed to be a villain planning evil things against the Sisterhood. It will be interesting to see if the prophecies hinting at Hart turn out to be true.
