He was asked whether the latest tragedy could signal the start of Ridley’s redemption arc and if he would return in the next installment. To this, he replied, “I have no idea.” As a result, many fans are staying hopeful, thinking this uncertainty might mean there’s still a slight chance he could make a comeback. Nonetheless, the showrunner hasn’t confirmed anything about his character’s fate.
However, one thing is certain: he has wrapped up for Season 7 and will not appear in the remaining episodes. “Yeah. I am done in Season 7,” per his comments in the same interview.
