Ingelsby added, “I really see myself as a character writer and not a great plot writer. And so what I love about TV is that you get to explore the Grassos, the Lizzies, the Aleahs. If I was to do a movie, unless I was Robert Altman, I just wouldn’t be able to tap into that many characters.”
The story follows Tom Brandis (Mark Ruffalo), a former Catholic priest and FBI agent suffering from personal tragedy. He leads a task force to stop a series of robberies committed by Robbie Prendergrast (Tom Pelphrey), a seemingly ordinary family man dealing with his own personal struggles. During their missions, Tom and Robbie cross paths with a mysterious gang known as The Dark Hearts.
