Katelyn MacMullen’s Willow Tait on General Hospital has landed herself in some trouble, leading to a conflict with her estranged husband, Michael Corinthos. During a supervised visit with their kids, Willow gets arrested out of nowhere, leaving her stunned and making her suspect that Michael had something to do with it.
General Hospital’s Katelyn MacMullen says Willow blames Michael for her arrest
Katelyn MacMullen, who plays Willow, shares her thoughts on the character’s reaction in a recent interview. She said Willow was enjoying time with her kids when the police suddenly showed up and arrested her.
Finding a gun in her room, which she’s sure was planted, makes her even more convinced that Michael set her up. MacMullen also touches on Willow’s emotional turmoil, saying her character feels betrayed by Michael, who she now suspects of being behind the whole thing. Things get even more interesting when Willow gets to the station and learns that her mother is also amongst the list of suspects.
Talking about her character’s reaction with Soap Opera Digest, MacMullen says Willow definitely blames Nina but also realizes her mom was just trying to protect her, even if that meant bending the truth along the way.
“I think she certainly blames Nina [for this predicament] because it’s like, ‘Oh, my gosh, she roped me into this alibi and now I look so guilty when it was never my idea to lie in the first place,’” MacMullen claims.
“At the same time, Willow feels like, ‘Well, she was obviously just lying because she was trying to protect me,’ which Nina does sometimes — she steps in just in an effort to be protective or helpful. So, now it’s like, ‘How do we get out of this? This is not good,’“ she further added.
Willow might get a break, since her ex-husband Chase still works at the PCPD. She thinks Chase could hear her side of the story and start seeing Michael as the one who planted the gun, especially given that Michael’s family has pulled stunts like this before.
