Bret Easton Ellis is writing a pilot for The CW entitled Copeland Prep, reports THR. Why should you care? Well, beyond the fact that he’s the author of American Psycho, the pilot is laying the groundwork for a series about “a premier secondary school so fiercely competitive that it’s turning its students into monsters – literally – and spreading the disturbing ramifications throughout the town.”
Now, by “monsters” I wonder if it is full-on transformations or if it is the typical silly “oh I shave my head” or “I’m wearing yellow contacts look how scary I am” monsters we’ve seen in kiddie fare like Beastly or what is being considered “horrifying” in the forthcoming Beauty and the Beast CW show.
Fake Empire and Catherine Hardwicke are serving as producers on the potential series along with Ellis.
