Dino Croc vs. Supergator
Dragon Storm
We think of this as very much a precursor to Sharknado. Its a similar idea, but didnt generate anywhere near the buzz that Sharknado has perhaps due to lack of star power and the fact that it was released prior to the newfound audience obsession with SyFy original programming? Dragon Storm stars mostly unknown actors, even by SyFy’s loose standards of celebrity. But, even the lack of recognizable talent couldnt stop this powerful story from being told. Rather than a tornado of sharks, Dragon Storm concerns a meteor shower that results in fire breathing dragons. Essentially, the meteors work as a method of transport for the fire-breathing dragons. The film was released in 2004, before the somewhat more recent fascination with science fiction films that have nothing to do with science and everything to do with fiction. The film throws caution, plausibility, and common sense to the wind, but there are plenty of shenanigans to go around.

Mega Shark Vs. Giant Octopus
As this trash err treasure was released near the height of the made-for-television creature feature obsession, it actually managed to secure a limited theatrical release prior to finding its permanent home on SyFy. Nothing terribly out of the ordinary with this one. A big octopus and a big shark go at it. Carnage ensues. The fate of the world is at stake. Theres only room for one giant animal in this film, so the two must fight to the death!
