The Walking Dead, though a ratings and populist phenomenon, had not managed to wrangle much critical acclaim since its initial knockout episodes. At the premiere of season five however, a cautious enthusiasm spread, with surprise and excitement mounting and indicating that the survival series was finally reaching greatness. Will this continue to be its turnaround?
