Controversial director returns with very strange looking psychothriler, SPLIT.
After the unexpected critical and commercial success of divisive writer/director M. Night Shyamalan’s THE VISIT last year, THE SIXTH SENSE helmer has re-teamed again with Blumhouse Productions to release SPLIT, a truly perverse looking psychodrama starring James McAvoy and THE WITCH’s Anya Taylor-Joy.
Here’s the official plot synopsis:
Though Kevin McAvoy) has evidenced 23 personalities to his trusted psychiatrist (Betty Buckley, from Brian De Palma’s CARRIE), there remains one still submerged who is set to materialize and dominate all the others. Compelled to abduct three teen girls led by the willful, observant Casey (Taylor-Joy), Kevin reaches a war for survival among all those contained within him- as well as everyone around him- as the walls between his compartments shatter apart.
