Actor Shehnaaz Gill recently took to Instagram to update her beloved followers about her health update. She was hospitalized a few days after the premiere of her latest film, Thank You For Coming, due to an infection.
The actor is said to have contracted a food infection during the film promotions and is recovering from it at Mumbai’s Kokilaben Hospital.
What Happened to Shehnaaz Gill?
Shehnaaz Gill conducted an Instagram Live session from the hospital, the video of which was later circulated through fans. In the video, she can also be seen dressed in hospital clothes and lying on the hospital bed.
The actor mentioned, “Dekho time sabka aata hai, sabka jaata hai. Mere saath bhi vahi hua. Fir aayega thode din baad. Guys, I’m fine now. Main theek nahi thi. Mujhe infection hogya tha. Maine na sandwich khaa lia tha. Infection hui hai mujhe, food infection. (Look, everyone goes through ups and downs in life. I went through it too. But I’ll be back in a few days. Guys, I’m fine now. I had eaten a sandwich and wasn’t feeling well because of the food infection).”
Along with the fans, actor Anil Kapoor also commented during her live session, “Namastey Shehnaaz ji. ” The actor also added: You are like Mumtaz… the next Mumtaz. Sab dekh rahe hai, appreciate kar rahe hain (all are watching the film and appreciating it.)”
Rhea Kapoor Pays Shehnaaz a Visit
The actor fell sick during the extensive promotions of her film and last Monday, the film’s co-producer Rhea Kapoor visited her at the hospital to check on her health. Also, several Instagram paparazzi accounts like Viral Bhayani, shared a video of the producer exiting the hospital and waving to the photographers present outside after getting into her car.
Fans expressed concern for Shehnaaz Gill’s health on X (formerly Twitter) and wished for her speedy recovery. A user wrote, “Sending you hugs and love as you recuperate. GET WELL SOON SHEHNAAZ #Shehnaaz Gill.” Other fans blamed it on the evil eye, commenting, “Get well Soon Shehnaaz nazar lag gai meri gudia ko (evil eye got my doll). “
Shehnaaz Gill portrays the character Rushi Kalra in Thank You For Coming. The film revolves around the story of Kanika Kapoor, played by Bhumi Pednekar, a single woman in her 30s and on a journey to find true love and happiness. The cast includes Instagram influencers Dolly Singh, Kusha Kapila, and Shibani Bedi.
Directed by Karan Boolani, this coming-of-age comedy features a screenplay by Radhika Anand and Prashasti Singh. The film premiered worldwide at the Toronto International Film Festival last month and will soon become available on Netflix.
