Ajay Devgn’s Maidaan OTT Release Date & Platform Revealed?

Ajay Devgn‘s Maidaan, the highly anticipated period sports drama, is now available to stream on Amazon Prime Video. Released in theaters in April, the film is a biographical account of legendary Indian football coach Syed Abdul Rahim, who significantly impacted Indian football from 1952 to 1962.

What is Ajay Devgn’s Maidaan OTT release date & platform?

As of Wednesday, Maidaan is streaming on Amazon Prime Video. The OTT platform made the announcement on social media. It referred to the film as the “ground maidaan breaking story of India’s finest hour in football.” Currently, the film is available only in Hindi with English subtitles. However, there has been no news of the film being available in other languages yet.

Maidaan, directed by Amit Sharma, tells the story of Syed Abdul Rahim, the iconic football coach who revolutionized Indian football. Rahim’s coaching tenure is marked by notable achievements, including India’s remarkable performance at the 1956 Olympics and the Asian Games. Ajay Devgn takes on the role of the legendary coach, bringing his inspirational journey to life on screen.

Furthermore, the film features a stellar cast including Priyamani, Gajraj Rao, and Rudranil Ghosh. Madhur Mittal, Chaitanya Sharma, Tejas Ravishankar, Davinder Gill, Amartya Ray, and more round up the ensemble. The soundtrack is composed by Oscar winner A.R. Rahman. Maidaan also includes five songs performed by Javed Ali, Richa Sharma, Hiral Viradia, Nakul Abhyankar, Vaishali Samant, MC Heam, and Rahman himself. In addition, the film was produced by Zee Studios, Boney Kapoor, Arunava Joy Sengupta, and Akash Chawla.

Released on April 11, 2024, Maidaan faced stiff competition at the box office, particularly from Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, featuring Akshay Kumar. Despite its critical acclaim, Maidaan underperformed commercially due to the crowded release schedule.

Now, for those who missed the theatrical release, the movie’s arrival on Amazon Prime Video offers a way to enjoy it from the comfort of home.
