Twinkling Watermelon aired a new episode on Monday, October 30, 2023, at 8:50 p.m. on tvN and Viki. The series follows the story of a CODA (child of deaf adult) student, Eun-Gyeol, and his time travel journey to 1995 – the year when he meets his parents from the past. He also partakes in the formation of his father’s band, Watermelon Sugar. The drama has been significantly popular since its premiere.
Episode 11 of Twinkling Watermelon showcased Eun-Gyeol (Ryeoun) and his desperate efforts to avoid his father, Yi Chan (Choi Hyun-Wook) from going to the music festival. He aimed to save his father from the accident that would cause Yi Chan’s eventual hearing loss. After his extreme measures and timely help, he was able to save his father from the accident.

Episode 11 of Twinkling Watermelon begins with Kang Hyun-Yul fighting with the bullies on the road, warning them to say away from Yi Chan. The same bullies had previously knocked the latter unconscious. Meanwhile, the members officially form the band and announce the name, Watermelon Sugar, with pomp and splendor.
However, Eun-Gyeol becomes aware of an accident that will lead to a member’s injury. He soon finds out that it will be his father, Yi Chan. Thus begins Eun-Gyeol’s race against time to save Yi Chan from suffering a major injury, which eventually results in the latter’s hearing loss. To avoid Yi Chan from going to the rehearsal, he seeks Se-Kyung’s (Seol In-Ah) help.
Eun-Gyeol asks Se-Kyung to convince Yi Chan into spending time with her. While Se-Kyung agrees, she also wants Eun-Gyeol to go to the movies with her in return for the favor. He agrees, after which Se-Kyung invites Yi Chan to accompany her to an island. Although Yi Chan is excited, he soon realizes upon reaching the island that it was Eun-Gyeol’s plan.
Yi Chan gets angry at Eun-Gyeol for straying him away from the rehearsal. Moreover, the latter’s desperate pleas go unheard when Yi Chan decides to go to practice. Eun-Gyeol eventually reveals that he’s come from the future and that Yi Chan is his father. The latter fails to believe it and proceeds to leave.
As a last-minute resort, Eun-Gyeol jumps into the water and Yi Chan jumps to save him. Once they reach the shore, Yi Chan decides to ditch the rehearsal, making Eun-Gyeol emotional as he sobs in his father’s arms. After they reach home, Eun-Gyeol leaves for his date with Se-Kyung as promised. Meanwhile, Yi Chan goes to school with the boys.
The bullies, once again, make their way to school. The band members fight with the bullies, following which one of them hits Yi Chan. Before he could cause further harm, Eun-Gyeol comes just in time to save his father. He ditches Se-Kyung on the date after learning about the bullies’ attack. When he finds Yi Chan unconscious, he starts screaming in fear that his father might have suffered the injury.
Just when Eun-Gyeol thinks he failed to protect his father, Yi Chan responds to him. As such, it becomes clear that he hasn’t lost his hearing and that Eun-Gyeol managed to avoid the accident, eventually saving his father.
