According to The Hollywood Reporter, Olivia Cooke (Ready Player One) and Lakeith Stanfield (Sorry to Bother You) have entered into early talks to star in the forthcoming untitled fantasy film for Disney+. The film will be helm by To All the Boys I’ve Love Before director Susan Johnson.
Disney+ has successfully acquired the rights to the script from Black List writer Cat Vasko. Further details on the film’s plot and characters are still being kept under wraps. It will be produce by Mad Chance executives Andrew Lazar and Ben Simpson.

Cooke’s notable film credits include: the comedy-drama Me and Earl and the Dying Girl; the dark comedy Thoroughbreds opposite Anya Taylor-Joy (Glass); Steven Spielberg’s sci-fi adventure film Ready Player One starring alongside Tye Sheridan and Ben Mendelsohn; and in Amazon Studios’ Life Itself. She will next be seen in Scott Free Productions’ Naked Singularity opposite Star Wars actor John Boyega.
Stanfield has been enjoying a career uprising for just over five years now, beginning with the acclaimed indie drama Short Term 12 and steadily continuing with roles in Selma, Get Out, Death Note, Sorry to Bother You and the FX hit comedy Atlanta starring alongside creator/writer/star Donald Glover. He will next be seen in Rian Johnson (Star Wars: The Last Jedi)’s ensemble murder mystery Knives Out, which is set for a November 27 release.

Disney‘s upcoming streaming service will become the exclusive home in the U.S. for subscription-video-on-demand viewing of the newest live action and animated series and movies from Disney, Pixar, Star Wars, Marvel and Fox. Set to launch on November 12, the service will be ad-free, supported solely by subscription fees, and will be available on gaming consoles, smart TV’s, and connected streaming devices.
