Variety brings word that Emmy nominee Betty Gilpin (GLOW) is in talks to join Chris Pratt (Guardians of the Galaxy) in Ghost Draft, the upcoming sci-fi action movie from Paramount and Skydance. Oscar-winner J.K. Simmons (Whiplash, 21 Bridges, Invincible) is also in negotiations to join the feature (via THR).

Ghost Draft follows a man drafted to fight in a future war where the fate of humanity relies on his ability to confront his past. The movie is directed by Emmy winner Chris McKay (Robot Chicken, The Lego Batman Movie) and written by Zach Dean (Deadfall, 24 Hours to Live).
The cast also includes Yvonne Strahovski (The Handmaid’s Tale). No details have been released as to which character Gilpin will play if she joins the cast.
David Ellison, Dana Goldberg, Don Granger, David S. Goyer, Jules Daly, and Adam Kolbrenner are producing. Matt Grimm will oversee for Skydance. Skydance is financing the project with Paramount on board to distribute. Ghost Draft is expected to begin production this summer.

Gilpin has received two Emmy nominations for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series for her role as Debbie Eagan in GLOW. Her upcoming projects include the Grudge remake from director Nicolas Pesce, and the comedy Coffee & Kareem. Gilpin also stars in the horror-thriller The Hunt, though its release has been canceled indefinitely by Universal.
