Sydney Sweeney and Madison Iseman to Star In Blumhouse’s Nocturne

According to Deadline, Sydney Sweeney (Euphoria) and Madison Iseman (Annabelle Comes Home) have been tapped for the lead roles in Blumhouse TV’s supernatural thriller Nocturne, the first project in Blumhouse TV’s 8-movie deal with Amazon Studios. Jacques Colimon (The Society) and Ivan Shaw (Pearson) have also been cast in the film.

Sweeney is best known for her role as Cassie Howard in HBO’s hit teen drama Euphoria which had been renewed for a second season. Her most recent appearance is in Quentin Tarantino’s Once Upon A Time In Hollywood. Iseman gained recognition for her role as Bethany Walker in 2017’s blockbuster hit Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle starring alongside Dwayne Johnson. She is set to reprise her role in the film’s upcoming sequel Jumanji: The Next Level which is set to premiere on December 13.

Nocturne will be the feature directorial debut of British-Irish filmmaker Zu Quirke, who have also penned the film’s script. It will follow the story of an incredibly gifted pianist who makes a Faustian bargain to overtake her older sister at a prestigious institution for classical musicians.

The film will be produced by Jason Blum, Lisa Bruce, Marci Wiseman and Jeremy Gold with Matthew Myers, and Fodhla Cronin O’Reilly serving as executive producers.

Last year, it was announced that Blumhouse Television had signed a deal with Amazon Studios to produce eight thriller/darkly-themed feature-length projects that will be directed by diverse and underrepresented filmmakers. All eight films are set to premiere on Amazon Prime Video. The deal was Amazon Studios’ first-ever global direct-to-service deal for feature-length programs.
