It has already been over a year since we last heard an update on Legendary’s Josh Brolin and Peter Dinklage-led film titled Brothers, and now Variety is bringing word that actor-director Macon Blair (Green Room, I Don’t Feel at Home) has been tapped to helm and write the comedy film. This project marks Blair’s second collaboration with Legendary as he is also currently working on a reboot of the 1984 superhero film The Toxic Avenger.

Etan Cohen (Tropic Thunder, Get Hard) was previously attached to write the screenplay. Further details about Brothers‘ plot is still being kept wraps. However, the outlet’s sources described the project as something similar with Ivan Reitman’s 1988 classic comedy film Twins which starred Arnold Schwarzenegger and Danny DeVito.
Brolin and Dinklage will both serve as the film’s producers through their Brolin Productions and Estuary Films banner, respectively. American Sniper producer Andrew Lazar will also be producing through his Mad Chance Banner.

Brolin’s notable film credits include The Goonies, Hollow Man, No Country for Old Men, American Gangster, Deadpool 2, and Milk. The latter had earned him his first Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actor. He is also best known for portraying the role of Thanos in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and was last seen in last year’s Avengers: Endgame which became the highest-grossing movie of all time with a gross of over $2.7 billion.
Dinklage gained worldwide recognition for his critically-acclaimed performance as Tyrion Lannister in HBO’s Game of Thrones which aired its eighth and final season last year. He won four Emmy Awards out of eight nominations for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series.
