According to Deadline, Ol Parker (Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again) is set to write and direct Jon Mooallem’s recently released book This Is Chance: The Shaking of an All-American City, A Voice That Held It Together for Concordia Studios.

The book tells the story of Genie Chance, a part-time radio reporter who became famous for the role she played during the famous 9.2 earthquake of Anchorage, Alaska back in 1964. Genie helped her town stay together and emerged as a legendary figure at home and in America.
Mooallem will executive produce the feature, while Concordia VP Patrick Callan will oversee development.

Parker is known for writing films such as The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel and its sequel; and directing Imagine Me & You, Now is Good and Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again. He wrote the upcoming comedy A Boy Called Christmas, which is directed by Gil Kenan and stars Maggie Smith and Kristen Wiig.
