The Fast and Furious family is only getting bigger as the years pass. Each new movie converts more once-skeptical fans to the over-the-top action-heavy driving franchise. Truly kicking into gear as The Rock, Jason Statham, and now John Cena joined the proceedings, Vin Diesel’s gang of VCR-stealing criminals/super spies has captured the nation’s attention.

Now, Universal Pictures has announced free screenings of each of the eight previous Fast and Furious films every Friday in theaters nationwide, all leading up to F9 on June 25. Fans can visit the official Fast Friday Screenings website today for details on how to claim free tickets to next week’s screening of 2001’s The Fast and the Furious. Each preceding Friday will allow fans to secure their tickets for the next week’s film as the screenings run through the franchise in chronological order.
Jim Orr, Universal’s President of Domestic Theatrical Distribution, stated that this event was a big thank you to fans for their continued support of the franchise. “The Fast films are all about family, and Universal wanted to find a way to thank our huge family of Fast fans around the country for their passion and loyalty over the past 20 years.”

F9 was originally slated for release in April 2019 but faced several delays. This was due both to the planned releases of other films in 2019 and then the COVID-19 pandemic. The film stars former WWE Champion John Cena as Jakob Toretto, a master thief who is pitted against Vin Diesel’s Dominic Toretto and the regular F&F crew. Also returning is Sung Kang as Han, a previously killed character at the end of Fast & Furious 6.
F9 is now set to release in theaters on June 25, or exactly 9 Fast Fridays from today.
