The Ink Factory today announced that two-time Academy Award-winner Jodie Foster will star in Drew Pearce’s directorial debut Hotel Artemis. Simon and Stephen Cornwell are producing for The Ink Factory, which will also finance. Drew Pearce (Iron Man 3, Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation, Godzilla) will direct from his own script, with Adam Siegel and Marc Platt producing for Marc Platt Productions. The Ink Factory’s Becky Sloviter is overseeing, and Pearce will executive produce through his Point of No Return production banner.
Set in its own distinctive crime universe, Hotel Artemis is based on an original script by Pearce. Jodie Foster joins the original near-future thriller in the character of “The Nurse.”

We are delighted to welcome her to this exciting production,” said The Ink Factory’s Stephen Cornwell. “Drew’s vision is unique and we can’t wait to see it brought to life by a stellar cast.”
Said Platt, “Jodie and I have enjoyed a long professional and personal relationship that dates back to our days together at Orion where we collaborated on ‘The Silence of the Lambs’ and her directorial debut, ‘Little Man Tate.’ She is an accomplished artist in every way, and Adam and I look forward to collaborating with her on Drew’s directorial debut.”
Drew Pearce commented, “Jodie Foster is an icon, pure and simple. She’s an extraordinary artist, and to be working with one of the all-time greats on my first feature as a director is an absolute honor.”
Foster has won two Academy Awards for her performances in The Accused and The Silence of the Lambs. Recent credits include The Beaver for Summit Entertainment, which she also directed, and Elysium for Sony and TriStar Pictures. Foster most recently directed Money Monster (Julia Roberts, George Clooney), which premiered at Cannes and was distributed by Sony.
Foster is represented by ICM Partners’ Joe Funicello and attorney Matt Saver. Pearce is represented by WME and Sloane, Offer, Weber & Dern.
The Ink Factory and Marc Platt Productions recently collaborated on Ang Lee’s Billy Lynn’s Long Halftime Walk, which Sony Pictures released worldwide this month.
The Ink Factory produced and financed the Emmy-winning adaptation of John le Carré’s The Night Manager, the highly-acclaimed drama starring Tom Hiddleston and Hugh Laurie and directed by Susanne Bier, which premiered to record ratings on the BBC and AMC. The company is also behind A Most Wanted Man, based on the novel by John le Carré, released in 2014. Abzû, the first video game title from The Ink Factory’s sister company Giant Squid Studios, was released on PlayStation 4 and Steam in August this year, to significant critical acclaim.
