The Aquaman cast joins director James Wan for a read through as production gears up
It looks like cameras are very nearly ready to roll on Warner Bros. Pictures‘ Aquaman film! Director James Wan shared the above image (check it out in full below) of himself alongside Aquaman cast member Jason Momoa, Amber Heard and Patrick Wilson. It looks like the Aquaman cast did a table read today while Heard also popped up on the Instagram of makeup artist Mélanie Inglessis. Although the Mera makeup is not showcased in the photo (which you can also see below), it sounds like pre-production on Aquaman is really in high gear. The Australia-based production should begin soon.

Aquaman is set to feature the return of Momoa in the title role. Aquaman made a brief debut as the title character in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. He’s expected to play a much larger role in the forthcoming Justice League, set to hit theaters November 17, 2017. The Zack Snyder film is also expected to introduce Heard as Mera, Queen of Atlantis.
Not pictured in the Aquaman cast photo is Willem Dafoe, set to play advisor Vulko.

Next up in the big screen DC Comics universe is director Patty Jenkins’ Wonder Woman. Look for it to hit theaters on June 2, 2017.
