The Flash film’s Kiersey Clemons is set to play the lead in Jonás Cuarón’s Zorro film Z
Kiersey Clemons (Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising, the upcoming Flash film) is set to play the lead role in Jonás Cuarón’s upcoming Zorro film Z, according to Variety. She’s been cast opposite Gael Garcia Bernal (Coco, Mozart in the Jungle) in the film, written and directed by Cuarón. Z will be financed by Lantica Media. The film is a co-production between Lantica Pictures and Mark Amin’s Sobini Films.
Z will be set in the future and will take a new look at the legend of the sword fighter Zorro. The film will be produced by Sobini Films and Lantica Media.
Kiersey Clemons has been seen in the Sundance pic Hearts Beat Loud, the indie An L.A. Minute and as Maria Charo in the TBS comedy Angie Tribeca with Rashida Jones. She’s also appeared on the TV series New Girl, Transparent and Extant. Clemons will appear in the Jason Blum movie Sweetheart and is attached to play Iris West in the upcoming Warner Bros. film about The Flash.
Jonás Cuarón directed the Gravity companion short film Aningaaq, and wrote Gravity with Alfonso Cuarón. He also wrote and directed Desierto and Year of the Nail.
