3 New Halloween Clips Show Laurie Strode Coming To Terms with Her Past

Miramax has just released three new clips from Halloween, the hotly anticipated sequel to John Carpenter’s 1978 original. The upcoming sequel film will be ignoring the continuity of all of the sequels in favor of telling its own story. Curtis previously appeared in four films in the series, including the 1978 original, its 1981 sequel, 1998’s Halloween H20: 20 Years Later, and Resurrection. You can check out all three clips in the post below.

In the first clip, Laurie Strode (Jamie Lee Curtis) talks to her granddaughter, Allyson (Andi Matichak), about what her life has become thanks to her obsession with Michael Meyers. While Allyson criticizes her grandmother for what she’s done to her family, Laurie remains nonetheless apologetic.

In the second clip, a pair of documentary filmmakers meets with Laurie, who try to get her to show some empathy for Michael Myers. Which goes about as well as one would expect.

Finally, with the infamous masked killer on the loose, Laurie sends her daughter (Judy Greer) to the basement while she prepares for a final, brutal showdown with her nemesis.

Master of horror John Carpenter will executive produce and serve as creative consultant on this film, joining forces with cinema’s current leading producer of horror, Jason Blum (Get OutSplitThe PurgeParanormal Activity). Inspired by Carpenter’s classic, filmmakers David Gordon Green and Danny McBride crafted a story that carves a new path from the events in the landmark 1978 film. Green also directs.

Halloween will hit the theaters on October 19.
